The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi hosted an Iftar for 130 clients on 24th September where participants raised approx AED 4,000 for Foresight.
Catherine Wallwork, Events Manager, Foresight had this to say...“Foresight would like to thank the Westin and its lovely staff most sincerely. We were honoured to be chosen as the official charity partner for your Iftar initiative and the funds raised will help fight blindness. Sight loss devastates lives and blindness is thought to be the biggest cause of disability in the U.A.E. With your help there is hope for people who are losing their sight due to diseases where there is currently no cure.”
About Foresight: Foresight’s is fighting blindness by helping find a cure for retinal diseases that make people go blind, such as Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) by supporting locally based and international research. We also aim to improve the lives of people who are visually impaired and blind in the UAE through many community initiatives. Our next event is Music by Moonlight starring soprano Denise Leigh who is blind on Thursday 27th November in the grounds of Le Meridien Mina Seyahi. Foresight is a Dubai-based non-profit organisation and a branch of Tamkeen.
